"It took us almost as long to decide on our GPS - Chart plotter - Depth Sounder setup as it did to decide on which boat we were going to buy, let alone who to buy it from. After literally months of decision making and breaking about which one and who from, we found Steve and from there the decision was easy.

The only question that remained was “What about Warranty problems?” when dealing with imported electronics. Well, just to set the record straight, we had a problem within the first 4 months with our Sounder (Northstar Explorer 457) and after one phone call to Steve we had a brand new head unit arrive on our doorstep even before we had sent the old one back. What great service! It arrived in time for the Summer State Titles and allowed our boat to take out Senior Female, Junior Male and Runner Up, Junior Light Tackle Team, and Family Team. Just didn’t allow for the Skipper to win anything as an individual...as usual! We have also managed more than 20 National and Queensland Records in the short time we have had the gear, which just goes to show the quality of the Northstar range in helping me to find fish.

G'day, got the unit and it works great. Thanks for the advice, the software and downloads. About 18 months ago I found a spot outside of Stanage Bay that I really wanted to get back to. I used the software to download over 100 marks off my old garmin unit (saved a heap of time trying to key them in). My last trip - within 15 minutes I snagged a 75cm emperor. I think you could say I was on the right spot. Thanks again. I will give you a ring in the near future, I am moving to Ayr soon and will be looking at doing some offshore stuff so I will need a VHF, I also think I need a bigger boat, but that is another story!
